I grew up in a large Christian family on a farm in Iowa. In school I was selected to be an American Legion Boys State Representative, and received the American Citizenship Award upon graduation from high school. After graduation, I enlisted and was proud to serve as an Air Force medic for the next 20 years.
My military medical career was varied to say the least, including many medical and surgical specialties. I was honored to have flown aero medical evacuation of wounded warriors out of Vietnam. I also spent a year and a half as an Independent Duty Medical Technician providing all medical care on remote sites.
While still in the Air Force I started working part time for a friend who had started a painting business (Williams Professional Painting). In 1989, as a Senior Master Sergeant, I was Patient Advocate for Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center. I then retired from the Air Force and have worked for Williams Professional Painting ever since. I started as a painter, then progressed to foreman, production manager, estimator and now customer service representative. One of the greatest things about painting is seeing a great improvement in just a matter of days or even hours.
I have worked only two full time jobs in my adult life. Both have allowed me to meet and work for a vast number of people and accomplish a wide variety of quality work with integrity, pride, and without compromising standards.
I have been happily married for over 40 years, My wife and I both enjoy singing in the National Christian Choir (a 170 plus , non-denominational choir). We have three happily married daughters, and we enjoy our grandchildren and great grandchildren.
