Project Spotlight: Even the Painters’ Building Needs to Be Painted Sometimes!

When you paint homes and businesses across the DMV every day, there’s one building that somehow ends up at the bottom of the to-do list… your own.
But eventually, we had to admit it: our trusty headquarters in Alexandria was ready for a refresh.
So what did we do?
We put ourselves on the schedule! Then, we gave the Williams building the same top-notch exterior refresh we give to our clients every day.
Giving the HQ a Fresh Face
The goal wasn’t just “slap on a new coat and call it a day.” It was about showing pride in the business, practicing what we preach, and reminding everyone — staff, clients, and anyone driving by — that first impressions matter.
How we did it:
First, we started with a full inspection, just like we would for a client project. That included checking for peeling areas, surface prep needs, and any weather-related wear and tear. (Spoiler: yes, even paint pros have to deal with touch-ups and wood rot.)
Then came the prep — washing, scraping, sanding, priming — followed by fresh coats of premium exterior paint in our signature brand colors. Clean lines, smooth finishes, and zero shortcuts. Because if you're going to paint your own building, you'd better do it right.
Special shout-out!
Owner Rick Williams rolled up his sleeves alongside Lauren, our graphic designer, working hard to make sure the visuals were dialed in and laid out just right. They both did an amazing job.

Why a Sharp-Looking Exterior Matters for Businesses
Let’s get real for a second: curb appeal isn’t just for homeowners. A clean, well-maintained building speaks volumes about your business, no matter what you do.
For Williams, our HQ is more than just an office. It’s a signpost to the community, a visual promise of quality, and the first thing people see when they pull into the lot.
Here’s why giving your commercial exterior some love is a smart move:
Builds trust – If you take care of your space, people trust you’ll take care of theirs.
Boosts brand image – Faded paint doesn’t say “professional.” Crisp lines and bold color do.
Protects the building – Just like with homes, paint is the first line of defense against moisture, UV damage, and weather.
Motivates your team – No one wants to walk into a building that looks like a “before” picture.
Practice What You Paint
Williams Professional Painting is known for attention to detail, reliable service, and consistently sharp results — and now, our building reflects that all the more. Fresh, polished, and unmistakably professional — exactly what you’d expect from a team that’s been doing this for over 40 years.
Final Thoughts: The Pros Take Their Own Advice
This project was a reminder that maintenance never stops — even for the pros. A good paint job doesn’t last forever, and when it starts to show wear, the best thing you can do is take action.
So yes, even painters have to paint their own building sometimes. And if you're ever driving by the freshly painted HQ in Alexandria and thinking, “That’s a good-looking building,” just know: we really meant it when we said we treat every project like it’s our own.
Because this time? It actually was.
